I have a feeling that it's just a feeling. If it performs better by numbers the worse "feel" of the 1gd might be just from the fact that it feels different than a 1kd driver is used to. I'm only speculating but thia kind of biases are tricky to control. I'm driving 1gd with AT so I might be biased too.

Anthony if you would have seen the muck in the fuel filter i changed on my Hilux im sure you would have seen the worst ever..i bought it used and she ran great but first thing when i buy used is i do a complete maintenance..well i was shocked seeing the mass of mucky old fuel that probably never been changed since new and the vehicle had 80k on it..but since changing it she runs great..thats a toyota 4ya

Don 220ks in 2016 hilux used pacific injector cleaner injectors still in spec.Change oil every 5000ks a lot of deletes running like a top 🤣

Our SIL's diesel Hilux now on 485 000km. Replaced injectors at around 380k an diff bearings at 450k Lives in Cape Town and drove all over Sa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Lesotho.

My 2002 4 runner had the gasket go bad on the 4 wheel drive cover on top of the trans. Take out the console and remove the floor pan cover.. you will see the leak.

i was looking at the 4 fuel pipes configuration and wondering why they're positioned that way with the 2 different pipes, i am assuming the logical answer is the pipes should be all be the same length to ensure equal volume of fuel from the rail to the injector which would be part of the calculation for injector command piston pulse duration. is this right or is it purely a cost initiative in the manufacturing process for the fuel injection system. yes the design is a much more practical maintenance solution to the 1kd where everything is under the valve cover. hyundia and kia use a similar design with 2 separate valve covers and the injectors mounted between externally. great video. looking forward to watching the others you've made.

Gday Anthony, and indeed anyone reading!! My sons purchased a 2008 Prado diesel, with the transfer pump issue. Has anyone an idea of part number to replace the entire in tank assembly? Toyota has Twice quoted $2k, but I’m not convinced we’re talking the same item. Any help, or part number would be greatly appreciated!!
